On September 10, 2025, the Slavic Refugee and Immigrant Services Organization (SRISO) had the honor of participating in the Service Fair at Bishop’s High School in La Jolla. The event brought together local organizations and passionate high school students to explore volunteer opportunities and ways to serve the wider community.
For SRISO, this was more than just an outreach opportunity—it was a chance to connect directly with young people eager to make a difference. Throughout the morning, dozens of students stopped by our table to learn about our mission, ask thoughtful questions, and sign up to join us as volunteers.
We were deeply encouraged by the students’ genuine interest in supporting our work with Ukrainian refugees and immigrant families in San Diego. Their enthusiasm shows that the next generation is not only compassionate but also ready to take action.
Volunteers play an essential role in our programs—from organizing community events and distributing essential items, to helping with cultural celebrations and supporting wellness initiatives. With the energy and dedication of Bishop’s High School students, SRISO is excited to expand our impact and continue building a strong, united community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bishop’s High School for inviting us to be part of this inspiring event, and to all the students who chose to walk alongside us in our mission. Together, we can create meaningful change and support families who need it most.
💙💛 Glory to Ukraine. Stronger together.
