Our Activities
We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming online fundraising cooking class, part of our Homeland Kitchen program: Flavors of Home – Borsch and Beyond.
This special event brings together food lovers, community supporters, and anyone curious about Ukrainian cuisine—all while supporting a meaningful cause. 40% of the proceeds will go directly to our programs that strengthen and uplift our community.
Meet the Chef – Taras Klipin
Our class will be led by the talented Chef Taras Klipin, owner of Need to Eat Cafe in San Diego. Taras is a food process engineer and chef with over 15 years of experience. In 2023, he moved from Ukraine to the U.S., bringing with him the rich culinary traditions and authentic flavors of his homeland.
For Taras, cooking is more than just preparing food—it’s a passion, an art, and a way of connecting cultures. His classes are filled with flavor, history, and stories that transform recipes into lasting memories.
What’s on the Menu?
In this interactive Zoom class, you’ll learn to prepare three Ukrainian classics:
Borsch – hearty, rich, and deeply comforting.
Chicken Fillet Roll-Ups – savory and satisfying.
Syrnyky – sweet, cheesy pancakes beloved across Ukraine.
Why Join?
