This week, our SRISO youth had the opportunity to participate in a truly special hands-on art workshop in collaboration with Teralta Art — and it was an unforgettable experience!
Children ages 10 to 13 explored their creativity, learned new techniques, and experienced the joy of building a piece of art from scratch. Guided by talented Teralta Art instructors, each child selected their materials, shaped their design, and watched their vision come to life right before their eyes. ✨
What made the day even more meaningful was that every participant got to take their artwork home — a beautiful reminder of their creativity, confidence, and the power of self-expression.
The workshop was filled with:
- Color, imagination, and playful experimentation
- Smiles, teamwork, and new friendships
- Skills-building moments that encouraged focus and confidence
- A final piece of art to proudly display at home
Experiences like this are especially important for immigrant and refugee youth who are adapting to a new environment. Art allows them to express emotions, build resilience, and feel connected to their community in positive, healthy ways.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Teralta Art for their generosity, expertise, and creativity. Together, we are building joyful memories and inspiring young minds.
