On July 4th, 2025, Slavics.org proudly marched alongside the Ukrainian community in the iconic Independence Day Parade on Coronado Island, celebrating freedom, unity, and cultural pride.

Dressed in traditional embroidered vyshyvankas and waving Ukrainian and American flags, our group stood out with vibrant colors, joyful spirit, and a powerful message: “United by Freedom.” Families, volunteers, and supporters walked together, honoring the values of liberty and democracy that connect Ukraine and the United States.

This marks the third time our organization has taken part in the Coronado parade—a cherished tradition that draws thousands of spectators each year. For many Ukrainian newcomers and refugees, it was their first-ever American Independence Day, making the event especially meaningful. It was a moment to feel welcomed, to be seen, and to celebrate shared values of resilience and independence.

Our presence in the parade not only celebrated America’s birthday but also raised awareness of Ukraine’s ongoing struggle for freedom. It was a beautiful symbol of solidarity between nations, reminding everyone that the fight for peace and justice is universal.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Coronado, the parade organizers, and our incredible volunteers and community members who made this event possible. We also thank our partners and supporters who continue to stand with Ukraine.

Slavics.org remains committed to uplifting our community, preserving culture, and building bridges through unity and celebration.
